On a real scheme

£12.5m of specification cost avoided

On Berkeley Homes' Queensmere scheme, our review brought every apartment to EPC B, held the M&E spec at today's level and passed without relying on PV. We estimate that avoided £12.5m of specification cost across 2,500 homes.

FHS is won in the details. On one recent scheme, entering the actual heat interface unit from the product database, rather than a default, cut modelled emissions by around 7%.

Why now: registering sites under the current rules closes on 24 March 2027. Higher-risk buildings need Gateway 2 approval by 24 September 2027.
